Kindergarten  (Before and After School Program)

Our Kindergarten Before and After School Program – 4 and 5 year olds

Staff/Child Ratio: 1 staff for every 13 children (2 rooms – up to 26 children in each room with 2 staff).

Our Kindergarten Before and After School program operates in partnership with the TDSB Kindergarten program.  During the school year it operates from 7:30-9:00a.m., 3:30-6:00p.m. A morning and an afternoon snack will be provided.   On non-instructional days such as P.A. Days, December, March and summer break the kindergarten program operates from 7:30a.m.-6:00p.m.

To allow for a seamless transition from childcare to school, the program is offered within the kindergarten classroom.  We maintain a harmonious partnership with Churchill Public School and work diligently to ensure open communication with all parties involved.

The Kindergarten program provides additional opportunities for children to learn through play-based initiatives.  Through weekly planned activities derived from children’s interests our educators facilitate a rich and purposeful program to support their growth and development.  Children will be exposed to a variety of activities to further develop early literacy and mathematical skills as well as strengthening their questioning and problem solving skills.  These skills will enable children to be successful in Grade One and beyond.

Parent/Educator communication is encouraged on a daily basis to provide feedback on the child’s day.
